Inauguration of the new building

 

Congratulations … Terra Santa College celebrates the inauguration of the new building and the award of its outstanding students.

          Terra Sancta has celebrated the inauguration of the new building allocated to resume teaching the Cambridge IGCSE Programme.

          The ceremony was under the patronage of his Excellency Archbishop Pierbattista Pizzaballa – in the presence of Father Francesco Paton, Custos of the Holy Land, His Excellency,  Archbishop Fouad Twal and the reverent bishops William Shomaly and Salim Sayegh who were kindly invited by Father Rashid Mustrih, the principal.  In addition, a number of priests and nuns , schools principals, students’ parents, teachers and a  number of  outstanding  students  participated  in  the  event.

 

          The ceremony started with the national anthem and a greeting speech by the principal, Father Rashid Mustrih. The speech stated the various stages of the project and its development, thanking all those who participated in its success followed by a documentary regarding 800 years of the Franciscan brothers presence and service in the Holy Land. The speech summarized vividly the Franciscan Brothers long journey since the first visit of St. Francis to the Middle East until the present time .

          The celebration also included several artistic parts and a high-tech-3D  movie  about Terra Santa- Amman followed by the patron awarding  the excellent students from the various stages together with the engineering staff who supervised the accomplishment of  the  new building and courts.

          Later, the patron and all the guests left the theatre and headed off to the new building preceded by the “ Mountain Lions “ (The School’s Scouts) who played the National tunes in preparation for the opening of the new building.

          Finally, following this comprehensive visit, and viewing all the hi-tech modern equipment in the building, a ceremonial reception was held in the main school’s courtyard in honour of the patron,  Archbishop Pizzaballa, where everybody expressed their admiration regarding all that was achieved by the college administration and the pleasure of the students’ parents about resuming the IGCSE programme.

          The great attendance expressed their delight and gratitude about all that Terra Sancta has been providing to their students.
